A Message from the Director
We are excited to introduce Innovation@UH, OIC’s newsletter aimed at providing highlights of University of Hawai‘i-based research and innovation along with unique stories about our startup and entrepreneurial activities that positively impact our society, both locally and globally.
OIC supports the diversification of Hawai‘i’s economy by promoting UH research and discoveries, as well as encouraging an innovation and entrepreneurial mindset in faculty, staff and students. Through our strategic programs, events and initiatives, we provide opportunities to be a part of Hawai‘i’s innovation and entrepreneurial network to grow the local economy and workforce.
OIC, housed within the UH Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation, manages the intellectual property and technology assets developed at all UH campuses and its transfer and translation for broader public use. The Office of Technology Transfer (OTT), UH Ventures and the Office of Indigenous Innovation (OII) are housed within OIC. The OIC staff is dedicated to providing responsive, courteous, and value-added service to the UH community. Our mission is to build partnerships between UH, industry, business and the community to advance discoveries and inspire our innovators and entrepreneurs to create new opportunities both locally and globally.
We are here to support and assist the UH community with commercialization efforts, intellectual property matters and innovation and entrepreneurial activities. I encourage you to visit us in person, on our website or via email to discover our new initiatives and to take advantage of the many services we offer.
