Anthony Ching is the Director of Federal Relations for the University of Hawai‘i System. In this role, Anthony manages federal relations for the 10-campus UH System, including working with faculty, staff, and UH leaders to identify areas of strategic importance and to coordinate and advance those federal policies and appropriations.
Prior to this role, Ching served as the Director for External Affairs for The Nature Conservancy, Hawai‘i and Palmyra, leading their government relations efforts with federal, state and county agencies. He also spent 11 years in Washington, DC working as legislative staff for the Hawai‘i congressional delegation, including U.S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye, and U.S. Representatives Ed Case and Neil Abercrombie.
Anthony was born and raised in Ka‘awa, O‘ahu and is a graduate of Kahuku High School. He also has a bachelor’s degree in political science and communication from the University of Washington and law degree from American University.
