Contact a Technology Licensing Officer (TLO) to discuss how they can help: market your technology; negotiate, secure and manage a license agreement; monitor business development, sales and impact; and distribute revenue.

Translate and apply your research into impact-driven innovations that can improve everyday life and solve local or global issues.

Reduce the risk and time in advancing your research or technology through Office of Technology Transfer guidance, funding and other resources and opportunities.

Access funds for research and development and receive profit-based income, while generating revenue for UH and the state.

After disclosing, assessing and protecting your innovation, a TLO can provide guidance on licensing opportunities, and support with:

  1. MARKETING: A TLO will develop materials to market your innovation.
  2. NEGOTIATIONS: If a company expresses interest in licensing your innovation, a TLO will review, negotiate and execute a license agreement.  License terms vary based on the innovation, market and licensing company.
  3. MANAGEMENT: TLOs manage UH’s portfolio by monitoring licensees’ compliance with development milestones and license terms, and distributes revenue per UH policies. Note: UH is entitled to recover its costs before revenues are distributed.

Explore commercialization options by creating a startup and how OIC can support building your business, enhancing your entrepreneurship skills, expanding your network and securing non-dilutive funding.
